After a seemingly quiet summer, Blount Street Commons has welcomed the changing seasons with a wealth of activity:
After a seemingly quiet summer, Blount Street Commons has welcomed the changing seasons with a wealth of activity:
- The Polk House Museum celebrates their grand opening November 18. Read the N&O article, "Voice of the Poor Farmer Rises Again."
- The AIA will break ground on their new headquarters December 9.
- Historic Oakwood will feature the Lewis Smith house on the annual Candlelight Tour December 11-12. Tickets on sale.
- The Jordan House at 549 N Blount St closed in September 2010 and will soon be renovated as offices for Holy Trinity Church.
- The Cowper House at 500 N Blount St is under contract and will be renovated as a home or office, for lease or purchase.
- The row and carriage home construction will begin again in early 2011. 8 of the 10 built have sold and are occupied.
- The Russ House, current home of the Blount Street Commons Sales Center, is now listed for sale.
